All tourism facilities in the Hicacos Peninsula enter the high season with improvements of their products and services, which means that the year ends with better results compared to the last one in which the polo visited more than 1.5 million tourists .

Ivis Fernández Peña, delegate of the Ministry of Tourism in the province, said that this will be possible due to the growth of the national market and the South American platform with increases in the markets of Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Colombia and Uruguay.

"Training continued in the languages ​​that are incorporated into the market and the high season is entered with more than 3,000 certified workers, an issue that weighs the markets," he added.

Likewise, he announced that the development of extra hotel activities of the most important destination in the country is enhanced. He added that the executive project to begin the investment of a recreation park (not thematic) in the area of ​​El Quijote and the boulevard de Varadero is already completed.

The latter - located on 62nd and 64th streets - will be ready for the International Tourism Fair, which will be based in Varadero. It will have sales of handicrafts, shops, cultural diversity, information and promotion offices, and other distractions with tourism real estate design, Fernández Peña said.

In addition, he said that it was decided to invest in the first tourist park in the country located on the Canímar River, for which there are already conceptual ideas and at the Fair it is intended to present the executive project.

He pondered the employment of students of the Bachelor of Tourism of the University of Matanzas to diagnose actions that do not require investments in the facilities of the sector, but that contribute directly to elevate and improve the image of the destination.

"The Fair will also include the products of the destination of the city of Matanzas and nature tourism, the latter mainly in the Ciénaga de Zapata," said Fernández Peña, who stressed that the fair will be reached with the rescue of traditions and history of the main pole.
