More than 250 thousand people know the world first-hand through the so-called hostels, of which there are around 12 thousand scattered in 165 nations, and that are preferred by a mostly youth segment and by those who like to enjoy the experience of traveling to the maximum. authentic and share with people of different nationalities.

Located in a building from the 30s of the last century, on street 2, between 23 and 25, which in the beginning was the home of a Havana family and since the 70s it has served as accommodation for visitors passing through the capital, Vedado Azul has 20 air-conditioned rooms with 27 comfortable berths and nine beds, for a total of 63 capacities.

Torres Iríbar, Marrero Cruz and Reinaldo García Zapata, president of the People's Power in the province, praised the high comfort of the two-story establishment, its beauty, functionality, decoration (for the Fund of Cultural Assets), and the possibility that the tourist count there with television, wifi networks, a snack-bar and a terrace overlooking the city.

They also learned that the work was carried out in 18 months at a cost of one million 800 thousand pesos in both currencies, an investment that they hope to recover in nine years from the efficient exploitation of this modality of city tourism, since their 14 workers will be responsible for providing excellent service to guests.

He said that the opening of the new hostel is part of the planned investments in greeting the anniversaries 500 of Havana and 25 of Islazul, and also the recently concluded International Tourism Fair, FitCuba 2019.
