Trinidad de Cuba aspires to become a Gastronomic City.
This southern Cuban town center, Cultural Heritage of Humanity, aspires today to become a Gastronomic City and therefore it is proposed to carry out the second edition of the Trinity Gourmet Seminar 2019, from 22 to 27 next.
Now, the third town founded in 1514 by the Spanish conquerors, chose as the motto of the event 'From the land to the table', during which specialists from various branches will give lectures on catering, hospitality and tourism.
There will be exhibitions, a gastronomic fair, cooking and cocktail competitions and a gourmet dinner in the heart of the historic center, which next to the Valle de los Ingenios, was declared Cultural Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO in 1988.
As it transpired here, the extra-hotel company Palmares has its four finalists ready for the bartender competition that will take place on October 25. Meanwhile, on the 24th, the Guachinango farmhouse will be visited, nestled in the valley, with the aim of showing the potential of local food production.
This area was enhanced as part of the 12 International Nature Tourism Event, Turnat 2019.
Guachinango provides gastronomic services several years ago - recently it received a capital repair - and is the only exponent in the Valle de los Ingenios of a cattle farm, while mural paintings stand out on the interior and exterior walls of the building.
The First Traditional Gourmet Seminar 2018, called Tradition and Style, brought together renowned chefs from Cuba and the world, as well as professionals from the cocktail bar, history, culture, and a broad representation of the non-state sector.
To the condition of National Monument and Cultural Patrimony of the Humanity, Trinidad, characterized by its colonial architecture, where the palaces and cobblestone streets stand out, unites for a year the category of Craft City of the World.
