Marianao is a municipality of the Province of Havana. It borders from the southwest to the southeast with the municipality of Playa, from the southeast to the south with the municipality of Boyeros and from the south to the southwest with the municipality of La Lisa.
Municipality that treasures a rich history marked by relevant cultural, political, social and economic events that gave rise to the neighborhoods that today integrate it and the traditions that characterize it. Also known as a garden city by those who love the benefits of its nature, Marianao is distinguished from other municipalities in the capital by the abundant presence of vegetation in its entire area.
In the municipality is the Technological University of the Cuban Capital, the Higher Polytechnic Institute José Antonio Echeverría known as the CUJAE, first of its kind in the country.
It also has the classic school of Plastic Arts known as San Alejandro and a branch of the National Ballet of Cuba, a school for children and adolescents with a vocation for ballet and the Alejandro García Caturla Elementary Music Conservatory.
