El Nicho, is a wonder of nature, dozens of waterfalls and natural ponds in a practically virgin spot, hidden among the mountains. One of the settlements belonging to the basin of national interest Hanabanilla, in the province of Cienfuegos. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places in Cuba.

It is located across the Sierra del Escambray, 30 kilometers from Topes de Collantes and just two from Lake Hanabanilla. It is part of the Laguna de Guanaroca-Yaguanabo-El Nicho Wildlife Refuge, located in the Guanayara Park, belonging to the Guamuhaya Mountain Range (also known as the Escambray Mountain Range) in the province of Cienfuegos, which covers an area of 60 km². its limits more than 65 species of endemic plants.
