Bar Cafetería El Louvre

Located in the Historic Center of the City of Remedios, Villa Clara, and inaugurated on October 19, 1866 as Café, Dulcería and Restaurante, it is proud to be “the oldest cafeteria in Cuba that still provides services”.

Personalities of contemporary history have visited this establishment, among which are the famous painters Amelia Peláez and Gabriel García Moroto, the historian Emilio Roig Leushering, the ethnologist Don Fernando Ortiz, the Matanzas poet Gabriel de la Concepción Valdés (Plácido), the poet Spanish Federico García Lorca, singers Rita Montaner and Bola de Nieves, among others who could not be forgotten as Major General Francisco Carrillo y Morales and Generalissimo Máximo Gómez.
