Antiguo Ayuntamiento, Santiago de Cuba
Its architecture was adapted by Francisco Prat Puig and reopened in 1950. From the beginning of the town, it was the place from which the edicts issued by the Spanish Crown were read in public.
The Old City Hall is known by most Cubans as the place from which Fidel Castro spoke for the first time to the people on the 1st. January 1959, after the triumph of the Revolution.
Today it is the seat of the Municipal Assembly of Popular Power.
