The city of Puerto Padre is relatively young, having started promoted from 1860, in a coastal area near the sugar mill San Manuel, north of the province of Las Tunas.
Its magnificent harbor, the renowned beauty of its beaches and the economic potential that it acquired in the early twentieth century make this a wonderful city that in addition to its beauty and economic potential, Puerto Padre has a rich history.
At present, Puerto Padre becomes a place of enviable eastern Cuban geography, a real complement to the burgeoning growth of tourism in a province of the island which also aspires to play a leading role in the hospitality industry.
